The problem of basic education in Indonesia is used to be measured by the percentage of children who can read and cannot read, even though the problem is not as simple as dividing into the two groups, especially in the outermost, underdeveloped and frontier (3T) areas that are far from access to reading sources. If they (the reading group) do not have reading material, then what is the difference between those who cannot read?

Still in the design of Learning Houses, we are trying to develop the concept of a literacy ecosystem that is connected to reading houses in the village, namely Library+. Is a conventional library concept combined with digital book collection management and inventory, and equipped with programs and facilities that allow readers to integrate their reading experience with various other informative facilities and media such as websites, applications, creative shows, podcasts, and amphitheaters.

The President of Republic Indonesia, Joko Widodo, believes that the creative economy in the future will be able to become the backbone of the Indonesian economy, and be able to lead Indonesia to become one of the five world economic powers in 2045. At that time Indonesia is also predicted to leave the category of middle class society. income trap (MIT) to high income country (HIC). We believe that if we are able to maximize the potential of the demographic bonus in Indonesia in 2030-2040, together we can achieve Advanced Indonesia 2045. Sumba Break Time is a design form of activation of the creative industry ecosystem in Sumba.

Bowo Yuli Prihandono and Muhammad Arief Paturahman are students o Tanjungpura University Pontianak who ran the Student Job Training program in 2019 at our studio, CivArch design studio - CIVILARC.ID “Business Innovation & Project Management”.
During three months of processing with us, they completed a book entitled 'SPACE Civil & Architecture Volume 2'. This book summarizes their creative process in designing the Sumba Cultural Arts Center, as a result of discussing and sharing ideas that are put into a concept of thought and architectural design.
We advise them to use the metaphor of the shape of Mamuli, a typical ornament from Sumba Island whose basic shape resembles the uterus or female reproductive organs. The shape of the mamuli was chosen as a symbol of femininity to respect the position of the mother. We interpret mamuli as a symbol of fertility with the hope that the presence of the Sumba Cultural Arts Center in the future will produce new and talented artists, and be able to produce works with cultural authenticity rooted in the indigenous people of Sumba.
